Lightmapping Unity - whole scene at once?
I'm trying to grapple with the new (beta) lightmapping feature in Unity 2018.1. I've seen some tutorials and demos out there that show some of the basics. You use the render to texture option and add a lightmap channel for each object etc. I understand that reasonably well, and I can see how this ...

Precisely match Sketchup camera?
I'm using a nice new Sketchup plugin that does real-time compositing within the Sketchup window (SketchFX). The perfect complement for this is the Octane renderer, which when combined together would allow pretty much unlimited NPR effects blended in with realistic effects...all within the Sketchup ...

Re: Octane for Unity - Installation Guide (rev. July 31st, 2017)
Respectfully, I just think this strategy is going to slow it down...and I hope you consider this. You may be right about single GPU's and Unity users but that's not a fixed situation. (most of the low end or non-GPU Unity customers are probably coders). Octane's main selling point is speed, and now ...

Re: Octane for Unity - Installation Guide (rev. July 31st, 2017)
Yeah, forgive me for saying so but this "free tier" concept is a strategic screw up. J. Urbach is famous among Unity users for showing everyone Octane and promising it as "free to all Unity users in 2017." I don't think the typical Unity user was thinking "Yeah, Free but with major caveats." You don ...

Re: Octane for Unity - Installation Guide (rev. July 31st, 2017)
Interesting, thanks. The renders are excellent.
Also, is texture/light baking working correctly in the current iteration? I've tried baking to camera and can't seem to get the results I would expect. This may be ignorance on my part, and if it is fully functional, are there any resources out there ...

Re: Octane for Unity - Installation Guide (rev. July 31st, 2017)
Just wanted to say, I tried out Octane/Unity for the 1st time. I really enjoy this plugin, more so than the Sketchup plugin and standalone which I have. Using it in Unity really seems a natural implementation, with the PBR targets and how they work, it seems to flow well and is very predictable. A ...

Re: How to combine HTC Vive and Octane?
How about Unity and Octane baking? This was at least hinted at long ago but I haven't heard much since.
Thx.

Unity and Octane 3?
About a year ago there was a big press release for Octane 3, if anyone remembers. I just upgraded now that its out. That's fine, but whatever happened to the proposed Unity and Unreal plugins? I've seen Youtube demos but never have heard much more about that. It would be so great to render out of ...
