Re: New to Octane - bugs and missing features in Maya
21) Passes - Bug (or missing feature):
Material, object ID etc. isn’t matched by the DOF (haven’t tried motion blur, but I guess it’s the same). For an object matte to match in comp it has to follow the beauty 100%. I know there are issues when compositing blurred objects, but it’s hard to fake ...

3) Motion blur - feature
Motion blur is not visible in maya render view, only when batch rendered. Both subframes and internal is not rendere in renderview render.
Oh, that's why, thanks for clearing this up, it will test it right away. Thanks!

@KYactive
Great to hear from a compositors side and I was not just shooting in the dark ;)
Just to clarify, I could have been more precise, the LiveDB tab remark is just the tab, not the feature it self. But a whole tab just showing a reload icon is kinda strange, it would be more logical to put ...

Re: How to orient lights?
@ivankio:
Have you tried to set Geometry type to Movable proxy, then you can move the light around in the scene - also with IPR.
In my small Octane experience, IES only works with Sphere light sources and Y-down is the direction of the light source (bit of a pain to setup).

New to Octane - bugs and missing features in Maya
Hi. I'm new to Octane, just bought our first licens to test it out in our pipeline.
Over the past week I have been testing it on a non-critical project and I must say I have got a lot of surprises in the implementation of the Maya plugin.
I have made a list and will add to it as I go on this little ...

Re: Motion Blur Crashes Batch Render
Getting the same error even after reload.
I have a camera turntable animation from 1-200 frames, I have moved in in to start frame 25 to end at 175. Stills get the "animation requires extra frames" error on batch.
Motion blur also doesn't show up in the renderview, is that the same bug?
