Re: GTX 980ti vs GTX 1080

In this whole discussion, i don't see you guys bringing the 1070 into discussion. From the experience that i have with rendering on gpus at home and at my work, the 1070 = 980ti, but is a lot more energy efficient, more vram etc... I would opt for multiple 1070s all the way.

Re: SimInTech

Excellent work, congrats, very well made.

What GPUs did you guys use to render ? you said it was between 10 and 40 min, but didn't see the hardware used to render it.

Octane/Realflow Wine

Hello,

So recently i came back to Octane after buying a 980ti and this is my first render, an animation done in 3dsmax/realflow, rendered with Octane for 3dsmax and comped in Fusion 7.7
It's rendered at 2560x1089, so at 2:35:1 ratio ending at a 2560x1440 with the black bars added in comp.

Render ...

3dsmax Octane Render Elements and DOF

Hi,

i noticed that when rendering render elements like Position, AO etc... my Octane Depth of field is not applied to them.

Any way to have this on or is it just a feature which for now is not implemented?

Cheers

Re: Paris, Table, Chairs And Cigarettes

About subdiv modelling in 3dsmax with turbosmooth. It's not that heavy.

How i do it, i model let's say 1 chair, checking constantly with Turbosmooth to see how it looks, than when i am finished i check the render subdiv box and put it on the value i want and then i leave the normal box at 0, i don ...

Well, than why the huge trademark BS? Frankly, it's a basic model with basic material, nothing more.

Re: Teaser of pre2.3 v5 improvements

But i see that the glass is still with dark shadows, or at least the overall look remains the same, even if now it will be noise free much faster.

When do you think we will be able to see transparent shadows for glass?
