Re: Version 2.24.2-R2 (22.01.2016) - Latest stable

I have removed it because of some critisms about making confusion to people. People wish to have just one control.

Ok. I would really love to get this feature back. I use it all the time. Its a BIG time saver for seperating objects and testing out lighting/materials/mask etc without having to ...

Re: Version 2.24.2-R2 (22.01.2016) - Latest stable

Hi
I wonder where the "render layer" option is, in the octane settings, for viewing in live viewer. This is a feature I use very often, but it seems to have dissapeared in this latest version?
moved to render settings.

Yes, I can see it in the render settings and it works when I render to ...

Re: Problem rendering big scene...

Nope... However I did manage to solve the problem by cleaning up a bit. Removed some hidden geometry and now got my polycount down to 500.000. Now I can render. :)
But I wonder how you would be able to render bigger scenes? Can my gtx680 become a limitation? Think I read somewhere that octane will ...

Problem rendering big scene...

Hi
I have a scene where I need to build a big long furniture wall system that grows.
Now Ive made a single wallsystem and using cloner to duplicate it. If I try to render, Octane will fail when I exceed 10 clones (need 15).

The model is build using instances of elements containg a total of 1.160 ...

Re: Matte shadow limitation or bug??

Hi
I just uploaded both the stand-alone and the c4d plugin to the latest version (OctaneRender_for_C4D-2.24.1-R3). But I still do not have the option for surface brightness available... Any ideas? :)

Re: Matte shadow limitation or bug??

Hi
Thank you for your reply.
For some reason I do not have the "surface brightness" option in my light tag??
While your solution might work for blurring out the shadow, it is hardly a solution for the lighting.. By altering the size of the light, you are also altering how this light is affecting the ...

Re: Matte shadow limitation or bug??

It's a shame there is no solution to this.
I hope this is something that can be worked out in future versions. Having multiple lightsources in a project is a must have in many situations, and the ability to get the shadows on a transparent background is a wonderful thing. But since the shadows all ...

Re: Matte shadow limitation or bug??

Thansk for your reply.

I assume you are talking about "Multi-Pass Rendering / Part 3 - Render Layer" - about 7.50 min in?

I tried this, but it gives me the same result. The shadow from the fill-light is waaay too dark. It should not even be visible. And it does not matter what power your ...
