Re: Cuda error 702
An update to my driver rollback a few days ago... Using an older driver is now creating instability elsewhere, like in After Effects, so not as successful as I had hoped. I'll need to change to a newer driver and keep trying things.

Re: Cuda error 702
Had the same problem and the roll back worked for me.
Interestingly, I was only getting the 702 error in the live viewer window. I could still team render with Octane fine without the error.

Re: Octane scatter and time offset
Yes, it's too bad Octane doesn't support this sort of thing.
The work around is to manually make 5 or 6 clones, then manually offset and customize each's animation yourself. When once you scatter them also add random rotation to mix them all up. Can usually get away with it.

Re: Mix material manage scripts
+1 that mix materials need a better way to organize. Works fine now but you really have to keep your eye on things when you start to get into mixed mixed mixed materials.

Re: What if I use more than 20 GPUs
I'm also noticing that it's not worth it to run so many GPUs at the same time. Still testing, but it seems that lots of time is lost coordinating so many GPUs over the network. At some point you're better off running multiple separate renders in parallel, rather than a master with too many slaves.

Re: What if I use more than 20 GPUs
Follow up note: I had trouble getting two masters with one slave each working concurrently. So for overnight renders, it's just one master controlling two slaves. The other machine just rendering on its own.

Re: What if I use more than 20 GPUs
Actually it looks like a hard ceiling to me. Won't let me use more than 20 GPUs.
I've got 1 C4D master and 3 slaves, with 24 GPUs total. As soon as I enable enough GPUs to reach 21, it shuts down one of my slaves completely. Reducing the total number of GPUs to well below 20. (Third slave shows up ...

Re: How to apply Octane Scatter to selection?
I recently learned from a Beeple video how much faster Octane Scatter is than cloner. Pretty awesome.

Re: zbrush r7 displacement and normal maps for c4d octa
Right now I'm feeling like it's better to just use normal maps from ZBrush in Octane. Not displacement. This also makes it easier to place things on top of your geometry. With displacement it can be hard to figure out exactly where the geometry's surface will be in the renderer.
