Re: Workflow for compositing?

I'm interested too about this topic since we will be soon starting a new project and where evaluating the use of Octane for C4D for some shots where live footage (green key) should be integrated to a 3D scene, but with elements in the background and foreground.

For that we need passes, but we would ...

Re: Gnomon imitation

Hey, nice piece...

But the wall seems wrong to me... Maybe it's the scale of the texture that seems too big for the size of the bottle. And some speculars are a little bit high also, almost burning the image, make them more subtle.

Otherwise keep on the good work.

Re: Matej's New Year Competition Entry

I found the lighting a little bit too harsh, and the tones are too similar in the overal picture. I would have gone for a more subtle lighting with different tones, and more contrast between the different elements in the composition, so it's less monochromatic. But that's just me, otherwise good ...

Re: Long time no see ;)

I would add a lot of tiny particles (you can do it in post), to give it a more aquatic look, and depth. Tweak the tones, and also light, to give it a more deep underwater look. Why not maybe some underwater plant leaf floating around that's being illuminated by the fluorescent organisms ?

Some ...

Re: Very specific question about internet connection requirement

holocube :

Normally you use a custom port, just ask the IT department to open it for you, anyway if they bought the license, they are willing to use it, for the same reasons then open the port on the firewall ;-)

Re: The new anti-piracy "illusion" and simple logic

There is an amazing tool called "Firewall".

If you are serious about your work, you have a hardware firewall, properly configured. Just open the required port for the check, close all the others and it's done, no problems with getting hacked or whatever other thing over the internet.

People ...

Re: Very specific question about internet connection requirement

I feel that people should just chillax a little bit... because I see two points here :

- If you are just a hobbyist, well, needing an internet connection doesn't change anything to the game for you. It's not like the software collects info and send it overseas right ? My guess is that it will be an ...

Re: First animation test with Blender 2.5

Like it... keep on the good job.

You should work on the camera movement, feels unatural and very robotic/keyframed... need more smoothness, you could open the scene with the camera already moving forward very slowly, then accelerate, then slow again, and so on... but you shouldn't be stopping the ...

Re: Beta release delayed to early next week due to illness

This seems to be the pandemic recently all over every starting software company out there...

I wonder if the people complaining are maybe the same on every board. Most of the time the people complaining are those who in the end won't really use it to it's full potential because they are too ...

Re: Not working for me... :(

Thanks Radiance for the clarification, I didn't thought about that...

I'm working with the 8000 now, seams pretty stable for me at the moment, I like a lot the camera options, and I already got some nice DOF and color results.

Will this renderer be capable of outputing multi-pass renders ? In case ...
