Hey Dudes
Using normal threshold in scatter, I can put objects on a slope, but I want the opposite - objects on the flatter parts only. Doesn't seem to be an option for this. Scatter also won't read a falloff shader (not effector) as a distribution map so I can't use falloff (normal vs vector ...

Re: Fractal Noise options.
Yeah, I'm no programmer ( i know some stuff but not much). It's really an artist-friendly alternative though it is cool in practice.
If needs be, I'll learn to code OSL however... personally, that isn't the best solution.
I know I don't speak for everyone, so that doesn't mean much to say ...

Fractal Noise options.
I mostly work in a Landscape design environment, so I use Noises a lot to make materials, actual landscapes, and other effects (I'm sure plenty of other people use noises in other fashions as well), however, I find that the noise options in Octane are lackluster.

Re: What Material Component Leads to Ray Epsilon Issues?
I usually just leave it default (unless there is an issue right away). Then I will increase it until those artifacts are gone. This may create a problem with objects closer to the camera, however, I have hard large scale scenes (think 100s of kilometers) and still managed to get things to look right ...

Re: Fog In Distance
I've been fighting this for a long time. I can't get the medium fog to work right in C4D or in Standalone.
I would like to see some examples people have put together where they got it to work for them the way it is described to work. I don't mind using the z-depth mask in photoshop to make some ...

Re: Octane Scatter Object - No Info in Manual
There's still no info in the manual about this
Yeah, and it's still a thing I have to fight with. I can't get the objects to scatter straight up or scattered via a min-max slope angle properly.

Re: Octane Scatter Object - No Info in Manual
To align objects to point straight up change "Normal Align" to 0.
You can control slope scattering changing min/max sliders in "Normal Threshold".
I could have sworn that was the first thing I tried with no result. This month has been a bit of a confusing mess for me. XD
I'll try this. Thank ...

Re: Octane Scatter Object - No Info in Manual
I have been using the scatter tool for a while.
Here is an example of a scene I worked on for a bit. Nothing special, just messing around.
