ACES Tone Mapping affecting Layer Shadow AOV - Transparent BG & Separate Shadow

Hi, I need to render an object using ACES tone mapping on a transparent background and with a separate Shadow layer.
With ACES tone mapping enabled in the Imager, the background on my Layer Shadows AOV is not pure white. If I disable ACES, the shadow pass is perfect (pure white background), but then ...

AOV - shadow layer

I have a problem with an ongoing project.

This is the original render (simplified test scene)

I need that same result separated into three layers - background, object and shadow.

I've exported the background and object to separated layers.

I've ...

Re: Using opacity with Octane Scatter

Thank you for your reply!

In my original scene, the floor plane has applied material with displacement, so Random Position has to be more than 1cm. But even 1-2cm already introduces a very prominent shadow that leaves cast on the ground, which is not convincing, it is obvious they are flying above ...

Using opacity with Octane Scatter

Hi,

I've tried to scatter some leaves and this strange white outline appeared.

No matter what I've tried, except removing material's opacity, nothing helps.

Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?

I am attaching a simplified test scene with the same problem - problem_with ...

Problem with displacement

Hi,

Sorry for bothering with the basics, but I'm having this repetitive problem with displacement and for a long time can't find a solution, so please somebody help me.

For starters, I can't understand how to close holes on the edges. Is there a way to blend sides, or at least have holes filled ...

Re: Random texture tiling

Thank you both for replies.

OSL looks great, I've never used it before and I'll give it a try.

Random texture tiling

Hi,

Is it possible to achieve this or at least any similar effect of randomizing/rotating tiles?

Specular material - black edge

Hi,

I would like to create transparent glass tabletop, any idea how to get transparent or slightly colored edges and not black? Material used is simple specular with only IOR changed to 1.52, the object is cube primitive with bevel deformer. Specular depth is 37 and tried changing ray epsilon but ...

Re: Displacement based on the Falloff map

Yes, Baking Texture seems like it's not processing Falloff map for some reason. Noise, for instance, looks same with or without Baking Texture, but Falloff, when connected to it, results in white texture. But without Baking Texture, none of them would work on Displacement.

Is there any other way to ...
