Hi Pelana001_1,
Gaussian splats can capture complex lighting effects such as reflections and refraction that change depending on the viewing angle. PLY files that contain Gaussian splatting data which can be produced from a set of images in software such as NeRF Studio or Polycam or the new LumaLabs ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.10
Hi Elvissuperstar007,
This is a test with the latest version, and it seems to be working fine for me. I haven’t been able to reproduce the issues you were having. Could you try it with the latest version and see how it goes?
Regards
Paride

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.10
Hi coilbook,
16 GB o-o-c limit could be the bottleneck. If the scene exceeds the available VRAM by more than those 16 GB, Octane may still run out of memory and crash instead of using more system RAM. Also, some data may still need to fit in VRAM, so large or complex meshes, displacement ...

Re: Passes and AOVs
Hi HHbomb,
I tried cloning the AOV nodes, but I can't seem to reproduce the issue. I'm probably doing something different than you. Any chance you could record a quick video showing your workflow? That'd help me figure out what's going on.

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.10
The orthographic camera is broken.
Hi Elvissuperstar007,
Thanks. I've submitted my report to the developers. As a temporary workaround, switch to a different 3ds Max viewport and then switch back to the Octane Camera viewport. This causes the render to resume progressing. However, if the Ortho ...

HHbomb,
It looks like it’s working on my end. Could you show me a node structure video you created?

Hi coilbook, coilbook wrote: Wed Jul 29, 2026 1:20 amHi neonZorglub,
Do you know why slaves crash when vram usage is over their vram limit instead of using out of core RAM?
Did you set the Out-of-Core setting on the node during its setup?

Hi Pelana001_1,
I think it's just a matter of perspective and lighting.

Is there a specific detail regarding the algorithm in the new version of OR?
Could you share that geometry section?

Re: Cryptomatte rendering
Hi remka,
That's because Cryptomatte is generated using the same rendering process as the beauty pass. It's not like an Object Layer, which can be rendered independently. If all you need is a simple mask, though, an Object Layer might be a better option. You can generate the masks you need in just a ...
