Re: C4D Crash when rendering with Octane and using Takes

It happened also to me. Try to uncheck "Multi-thread for materials". After doing that I have rendered about 1200 takes without problems.

This was it, thank you SO MUCH! It also helped with random other crashes, I haven had any in a while, where before it was happening 2-3 times per work day ...

[SOLVED]C4D Crash when rendering with Octane and using Takes

Hi there!

I'm experiencing a crash (C4D closes, sometimes the octane.dll crash dialog appears as well) when using the Takes system with Octane.

I suspect this has something to do with octane not finishing generating the materials completely when switching takes.

This crash happens if Octane is ...

Re: C4D crashing / PC shutdown when using Octane only

Hi!

From experience - you'll want to figure out what's changed along with your card. If you didn't have problems before, a new variable is causing your problems.

Usually it's always one of these for me
- Driver - Which driver were you using with your 2080 ti? You mentioned you updated your ...

Re: Emissive Maps?

If you're unable to apply the emissive textures only to the lights via selection tags due to displacement, you can just use a mix material to mix a glossy material with an emmisive one. You can then paint a map for which parts should be emissive vs glossy and use that for the mix amount.

Re: 3.06 Layer Shader - No displacement in picture viewer

Thanks for your help renderingz, but unfortunately those settings didn't seem to make a difference for me (at least not in this version), beyond making the scene much slower to render due to the re sending of the scene data. I tried a number of combinations.

aoktar, the imageTexture does work, but ...

Re: 3.06 Layer Shader - No displacement in picture viewer

aoktar, I've tested it in the stable release of 3.06 (before it was 3.06 test 4). Still works fine in Live Viewer but does not make it to final render in picture viewer.

My workaround is to use the texture baker to bake out the layer shader into a new image sequence from C4D, and then bring it ...

Re: 3.05.03 Layer Shader in Displacement only works in LV

Sorry, I didn't think 3.06 was out and ready.

I tested it, and it still does not work. Displacement in layer shader seems to have no influence.

3.06 Layer Shader - No displacement in picture viewer

I'm trying to animate a displacement mix using the layer shader. Everything works great in the live viewer, but final renders have no displacement at all.

I've tried different shaders (bitmap(c4d) and ImageTexture(octane)) but ImageTexture does not allow me to animate the sequence (imagetexture ...
