What is stopping you from replacing your current rendering method with Octane?
In my case I got my license mainly to give my share of support for Refractivesoftware and to play with Octane for fun. I don't think I'll be able to switch to Octane for my work any time soon, even thought I really wish ...

Arion or Octane?
Last week I had the opportunity to test Arion and I have to say that I am very unimpressed.
The current version 1 has very few advantages over the last Octane Beta2.2 to justify the significantly higher price of the product:
1. CAD Plugin (Rhino) – The information posted on the Arion website is ...

Re: Loading materials/cameras
Sounds good. Do you plan to add the traditional library with resources (materials/textures) on the website when the presets are ready?

Re: Support for Magama hardware for GPU-X?
The Magma products are way more expensive than the CUBIX version. I know B&H sells them:

Re: 4 GTX470+i930 or 2 GTX470+i980x ?
You are absolutely right. On second look I realized that the power consumption measurements listed on http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/geforce-gtx-480,2585-15.html and the other review sites I read some time ago are for the entire test system not for the cards themselves. In that case ...

Re: 4 GTX470+i930 or 2 GTX470+i980x ?
YoonKyung, from what I have read GTX470 and 480 at full load draw about 490-500W. When they work in SLI they use a little less, but for Octane rendering they will have to be utilized as parallel independent devices. So if I got it right, 4 GTX470 will need approximately 2000W to run stable and let ...

If the system is really build for Octane as the title of the post suggests then:
You wont need high end gaming motherboard with 4x SLI.
You wont need 12GB RAM.
You wont need top of the line CPU.
What you need is excellent cooling and 1200-1500W PSU.
Your configuration would makes sense to ...
