Re: OtaneRender™ Standalone 3.08.3 [current 3.xx]

Hello Otoy developers, i had posted issue regarding 3.08 in other forum sections, but I havent heard from anyone if this issue is adressed and might get fixed.
You read here my ptoblem with rendering, wich I think is very annoying and critical bug that was introduced in 3.0.8

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.08.1

Hi again! So, I tried four SA versions. The aliasing of beauty passes is a problem in all versions above 3.07 stable. In V4, too. So, what's changed vis-a-vi anti-aliasing since 3.07?

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.08.1

Hi abstrax, no, Disable partial alpha is not enabled.

The combined beauty is anti-aliased. However, individual beauty passes are not. Those info passes which have alpha, are anti-aliased.

I don't pre-multiply the alpha because I don't want to have to divide it before color ocrrection in Fusion ...

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.08.1 [current 3.xx]

I noticed the alpha channel was aliased while trying to do a back-to-beauty composite in Fusion. This is bad!

The alpha channel in exr will not be anti-aliased whether or not you multiply the color channels with it (by checking the pre-multiplied alpha checkbox in the Imager). This is true for all ...

Re: Animated lights alias very badly

It's not just lights for me. After hours of rendering and saving out passes, I noticed the alpha channel was aliased while trying to do a back-to-beauty composite in Fusion. This is bad!

The alpha channel in exr will not be anti-aliased whether or not you multiply the color channels with it (by ...

Re: Version 3.08(latest stable)

Hi,
thanks for the screenshot, I’m not totally sure to have correctly understood the geometry, but it seems to me that the gxx effect is already present on the right, and if the specular is also in gxx mode, the same effect is repeted also on the left, since it is not changed from the different ...

Re: Version 3.08(latest stable)

Please, always post at least a screenshot, or even better an example scene that shows the issue.
I’m not able to reproduce the issue you described:

Switching from GXX to Octane in the Specular material doesn’t change anything.
ciao Beppe

Sorry, I should ...

Re: Version 3.08(latest stable)

Looking through a specular material with BRDF set to GGX at a glossy material with BRDF set to Octane, gives unexpected refractions (as if roughness was way up). Reflections on the glossy, when seen through the specular, appear blurry, even with roughness set to 0. Anyone else has that?

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.08 RC 1 [latest 3.xx]

Thanks for all the hard work Otoy!

I've noticed a "drop shadow"-"inner glow" type of artifacts appearing around the silhouettes of geometry in PMC (with and without Alpha chnnel enabled). It looks like ambient occlusion happening around every piece of geometry regardless of its proximity to other ...

Re: AnimateValues scripted graph pack Color-Enum-Float-Grey-Int

Beppe, that's great! Thanks so much!

I already used your innitial script version to begin looking into possibilities directly inside SA (without external software), such as this: https://www.instagram.com/p/BZ2wQZzn_v6

Combining animated values of different types, thanks to your graph pack, can ...
