It would be nice to have clarification regarding having continued access to the "EOL Tribute" build of the plugin if one were to choose not to renew Enterprise Maintenance.
As someone who's upgraded from V4 to 2020 perpetual and has been paying for maintenance on my perpetual license, am I going to ...

Re: NEW: EmberGenFX public beta begins now!
RNDR.otoy.com is acting like I don't have an active subscription... But I've payed for the Enterprise Annual Maintenance, which says I should have access to "subscription services" in the description... This doesn't seem right.

Re: NEW: EmberGenFX public beta begins now!
Hmm. I'm entering my Otoy account credentials at launch and it's just telling me it's "Not Licensed"... And then it closes out... I'm on the Enterprise maintenance plan, so this shouldn't be happening.

Re: Importing Alembic Mesh Sequences Through Octane
Thank you for looking into it.
Personally, even if it were at least possible to just import materials made externally in standalone through the plugin... that would still be an improvement over the current situation.

Importing Alembic Mesh Sequences Through Octane
From what I understand, OctaneRender itself can import Alembic files... But LightWave's Alembic Loader is unable to import mesh sequences.
So I'm wondering if it's possible to have the Octane plugin use a similar setup as it does with OpenVDB to import Alembic sequences. Such as those from RealFlow ...

Re: Object Sequence Crash & Motion Blur Problem
That'll be good. Thanks.
This is starting to make me wonder about whether there's the possibility of loading Alembic sequences through the Octane plugin in a similar manner to how OpenVDB sequences are handled. Considering LightWave's Alembic Loader doesn't support mesh sequences... I'll post it in ...

Re: Object Sequence Crash & Motion Blur Problem
Oh, ok. I see now... Thanks.
So I suppose the other problem, with MultiPass turned off, of Object Sequences canceling out Morph deformation motion blur is another compatibility problem.

Object Sequence Crash & Motion Blur Problem
I've been testing out using fluid simulation mesh sequences from Houdini Apprentice and Realflow (a 30-day trail. I've yet to decide which to invest in for fluid sims) for LightWave 2020... In this case, I was able to use a mesh sequence from Houdini along with a second export of the same mesh ...

Changes in LightWave 2020, and What it Means for Octane
As someone who uses Octane instead of LightWave's native renderer, the many rendering and surfacing additions in the newly released LightWave 2020 upgrade are seemingly unusable... Which makes the decision of upgrading or not a hard one for me.
But there is a section in the LightWave 2020 manual ...

Re: OctaneRender 4 / All Access - Update FAQ
I purchased a 1 year AA Annual Extension on the 24th only because OTOY, at the time, stated that owning a perpetual license past v4 would no longer be possible. (Something I wasn't too happy about)... But now I've come back to see that suddenly Rent-to-Own has become an option for people who pay for ...
