Hello,
I've set up some trees in Octane. I've used the diffuse shader with the albedo texture affecting both the diffuse and transmission inputs, which gives nice results. The shape of each leaf is cut out using a texture in the opacity slot. Unfortunately however, it seems that using an opacity ...

Re: Blending Displacements
Thanks Calus. That's a real shame that octane doesn't support mixing textures inside Maya. It makes blending environment textures (grass / rocks / sand etc) very difficult within maya.

Blending Displacements
Hello,
I'm looking for a way to blend displacement textures, similar to this example: https://vimeo.com/113085136
Basically, I have 2 PBR shaders, each with their own displacement maps. I want to use a mix material to blend the two together, driven by a black and white image texture to define ...

Re: 360 Stereo Distance vs Scene scale
We've managed to override the cap of 2.0 by adding an expression to set it to 6.35. The quickest way to do this is type '=6.35' into the value box next to the slider, and it will create the expression.
Otoy, is this cap a bug?

360 Stereo Distance vs Scene scale
Hello,
I've got a 360 stereoscopic scene ready to render in octane for maya, set up at real world scale. The scene is set to meters and everything is at correct scale. However, the stereo distance on the camera is capped at 2. I've done some tests and the stereo distance is definitely in cm, not ...

Fluids
Hello,
Has anybody had any luck rendering maya fluids in octane, or any type of fluids for that matter? We have a project coming up that we would like to use octane for, which requires some flames and billowing dust clouds. What is the current workflow for rendering fluids?
Cheers

Re: Any news about cost of ORC
Very much looking forward to working with this. Our studio has some projects delivering at the end of this year / early next that i'd love to trial ORC out on.
