we have tested the OctaneVR during the Metaverse Competition and our impression of it was really good.

Now we would like to know more about the Octane Render SDK and have sent an inquiry about it on info(at)otoy.com.

Hi beppe,

it's similar idea, though the important difference is that the command line script can be executed only once.

Take a look at this example:

The one step you can not see in this video is the port opening in Maya.

Hello everybody,

there is a MEL/Python command in Maya called commandPort, which makes it possible to control Maya from other application or even other workstation via port. Can we do the same with Octane? I could for example write my application in Python and then just send Lua commands via port ...

Does it mean we can expect this functionality in Octane 3 or it means that you'll start to explore this topic first after the Octane 3 is out?

could it be is possible to integrate OctaneVR in some custom application?
As far as I know we can only use Lua scripting to control Octane, but I'm not sure that Lua gives us access to raw image output data for example.
