Hi paul.

I have some problems with substance designer.

I want to render some images tweaking some option for making an animation like procedural effects.

So I made some simple material with substance designer (it is a same like Allegorithmic's site, S.D beginner part 1,2,3) and save sbsar file ...

In my opinion, your problem was caused by Modo's version.

As far as i know, Houdini use openvdb 3.0. And Modo 10 can't read openvdb 3.0 and Modo 11 can.

Here're my images from openvdb website smoke2.

Left is modo render, middle is O.S, right is Octane render Modo plugins.

Each version are modo ...

But..another question..

How can i render animation?

i tried it, but i didn't get fire images but cube(proxy) images only.

when i render frame by frame, i got a normal fire image. However rendering it start to end all at once, i got only cubes(proxy mesh).

To solve it, What ...

Wow! Thanks funk.

And one more question.

Why smoke in octane render is dimmer than Modo's it?

When i saw a tutorial video, both Octane's and Modo's are rendered same alike.

But when i render my vdb files in modo with octane, it looks vague.

When i use vdb, i can't see and drag drop VDB Voxel's source channel in OctaneRender Layout. It can only Schematic Fusion Layout. And Volume's channels(particle source and voxel source) are too.

Modo plug-in supports udims but it is unstable. It can't support displacement maps and modo's unreal shaders.

Especially when i use unreal shader in modo, it does well. but it works well only one map file map.

in order to use udims, commanding 'octane.createUdim', i do octane override first..but ...

Hi paul

I think you couldn't render my openvdb files Because that were extracted houdini.

Houdini uses openvdb 3.0 but Modo 10 uses V2.0.

But the modo 11 now supports openvdb 3.0.

So i could render with modo renderer but as you knew failed with octane.

Hello Paul!

Due to your efforts, i use unreal shader with octane well. but it works well one map file map.

How can i use udim files with unreal shader?

in order to command 'octane.createUdim', i do octane override first..but once i do that, my unreal shader changed octane diffuse material or ...
