Alright I've got it working now, changed my Houdini version and updated GPU drivers.. not sure what exactly was going on but packages now working as expected. Thanks for your time

Which Octane version are you using? Although if you are getting errors about APEX etc. then it is probably a more general Houdini issue as the plugin has nothing to do with those.
Well it's odd because I only get the issue when I add Octane to the Houdini.env so I imagine it does have something ...

Packages install not working in H20.590
Hi I can't seem to install Octane in 20.590 with packages, it crashes on startup. Had it working in an earlier version of H20. Also when I install in the .env file, I get errors on launch (can't find APEX, etc.)

Hmmm it seems the problem is in the material. When I disconnected my displacement port it worked immediately. Is this a real thing or just a bug?

Deformation MoBlur Doesn't Want to Work
Object motion blur is working fine. Deformations not so much. I've enabled it, I've played with the shutter time, i've calculated @v, I even multiplied it by 100 and still nothing. What's the deal?

Hello I have this mailbox geometry that I modelled. Seems to work in every renderer except Octane? Screenshot of what the model looks like and what I get when I render-

it's called "gradient" in Octane, at least in Houdini plugin. Need to get used to the name yeah, I still sometimes search for ramp and can't find it :mrgreen:
Thanks.. it still doesn't really behave the way I'd expect. Seems like the image adjust node is the way to go for simple levels ...
