Hey Ahmet, thanks for getting back.

Artifacts and crashes when rendering trails as hair 4.05
Hello,
This past week has been horrible with every scene consisting of trails rendering as hair has crashed a lot and had many frames with artifacts. We use x-particles trails, but it also happens when they are baked to alembic.
It happens in different scenes, on 3 different machines with ...

Re: ******* Wishlist and feedback topic ********
Hey Ahmet, thanks for all the great work!
The particles (Octane ObjectTag) in x-particles don't scale via Particle Scale parameter, only via Particle Radius. Because of it, there's much less what we can do about them. i.e. we can't scale them only in one axis.
Right now I'm looking for a ...

Re: OctaneVR, Lightfields, ORBX Lack of coherent info
You can render 18K video (Carmack Stereo cube map) in any Octane plug-in or standalone, as well as the free version of Octane in Unity. Compressing these frames for the Gear VR is longer than rendring. But it is free on ORC while rendering the data (mainly built this into ORC service for Oculus/FB ...

Re: OctaneVR, Lightfields, ORBX Lack of coherent info
Hi all,
Cinematic VR formats are already well supported in Octane for 360 3D output. Octane Stereo cube maps - co-developed by us and Carmack back in 2015 for RTM and the launch of OctaneVR- still represents the higest quality VR output on mobile HMDs in 3DOF. We extended this a while back to ...

Re: Coherent ratio animation light flickering
I thought so and never even raised it above 0, but it works wonders in this scene, aside that one light and only in volume fog.aoktar wrote:coherent_ratio=1 is worst idea i think. keep it low as possible or off. And try to optimise your performance with light samples.

Re: Only one volumetric light, how?
Hi Beppe!
We have yet to try that! Right now we achieved good results the other way, but stumbled upon a new problem. If we won't make it work we'll fall back to trying this. Thanks!

Re: Placing CG elements in 360 photographs
Hi KeeWe!
You have to use the panoramic camera to render panoramic images. The rest is dependant on what do you want to composite.
You should use the image in mind for environment light fo' sho!
