Yeah I think my situation might be a little unique. Apparently it's the specific combo of an Asus X99E-10G WS motherboard and triple or quad NVIDIA GPU configurations. I had to roll back to 382.53 to prevent blue screens.
Nivida has stated that the watchdog BSOD w/ multi GPU on X99-E 10G WS is now ...

Re: V4 Missing Graphics Cards
Ah, I was worried I may need to update my graphics drivers. I was kind of hoping it was something else. I had to roll back my drivers to a previous version to prevent numerous Blue screens every day. It was apparently an issue nVidia knew about and was actively working on. I'm not sure it's been ...

V4 Missing Graphics Cards
Hey all, not sure if this is a bug or if I'm doing something wrong. I installed the newest 4.0 version of Octane Render to 3dsmax 2018 and it doesn't recognize my graphics cards. I'm running four 1080's and it works just fine with the previous update. Because it's not identifying the cards, I can't ...

3ds Max --> Standalone
Hey everyone.
I remember reading somewhere that Paride would make a short tutorial on how to send a scene from 3ds Max to Standalone. Did he ever post that?
I'm curious about the workflow. Paride said it was a fairly straightforward process, but I've never attempted it before since I've never had ...

Octane v4.38 can't render VDB volumes
My apologies if this has been fixed in v4.39, as I haven't tested that yet. But here's the issue I ran into.
I was trying to render some smoke using Octane Volume with a VDB sequence. Octane viewport glitches out on the first sample and constantly goes between 0 and 1 samples forever. The moment I ...

Re: How to use a metal direction map?
I've seen people mention online that I need to convert it to a bump map and use that. I've tried this and it still looks weird. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

How to use a metal direction map?
I'm not quite sure how to do the brushed metal look. Using shaders from http://www.poliigon.com works really well most of the time (even though they're designed for Blender/Cycles) but I haven't figured out how to incorporate such a map like the one attached. It's called a direction map. It doesn't ...

Re: Background Image - ActiveRender
I've noticed this same thing and always just thought it was a limitation of Octane. It only updates your viewport background if you actually close out of your Octane viewport and relaunch it. It will then load whatever background image is set for the frame you're on when it opens.
If the background ...

Re: Does Octane support Fumefx ?
Haha yeah, Nuke is great.
However, I didn't have a problem just using a noise map as a track matte for the dude disappearing into the smoke.
