Based on the minimal info I gave you, you nailed it. I just upped the ray epsilon to.1 and job done.

Facets in render when using a high focal length

Has anyone had the same problem

I can render with the focal length at 35 OK, but soon as I up the focal length to 300 I get facets on every surface.
35 focal length and 300 focal length
35 focal length and 300 focal length

How do I solve this?

Batch rendering DPI and alpha channel.

When rendering outside of Maya via the commandline batchrenderer, even if the various settings are correct in the maya scene file, the DPI of the final image always comes out at 72DPI. If rendered within maya via the render or IPR the DPI is correct?

done some digging and managed to sort it

make sure render priority is set to high in the global settings, it defaults to medium and restricts the cards

i have noticed the octane plugin for maya does not use all of the GPU leading to slow render times

ive attached a screenshot that compares the load from the maya plugin and from 3DS max which uses all of the card and renders faster

this has been checked on 3 different computers with a variety ...

I see the colour option for lights has been removed all together now?


Will it re-appear in a future version?

I cant seem to get the octane lights Color Type set to Color and not Temperature, the toggle will change int the channel box but it has no affect on the image, and none of the Color Type settings appear in the attribute editor only the channel box.

I've checked the script editor and the commands ...
