Hi guys. I recently had water spilled on my desktop, which I've resolved. I had to take apart my 1080ti and replace all of the thermal pads etc. but it seems to be working for the most part.
Upon returning to one of my project files I've had some issues. Octane stops rendering samples past 120 or ...

Re: add an image sequence (animation) as a image texture?
Got it fixed. I didn't realize the sequence had to be placed in the "tex" folder.
Thanks for the help!!!

Re: add an image sequence (animation) as a image texture?
Ah, I'm on 3.00 R1 - would that make any difference?
Files names go as follows: First frame is named "0000.bmp", then it goes "0001.bmp" "0002.bmp", and so on.
I've put them in a different directory to the "tex" folder. Screenshot below of how they're set up.

Re: add an image sequence (animation) as a image texture?
apologies for the bump.
This feature isn't working for me either - hasn't for a long time.
I'm using a .bmp sequence, ive named all of the frames accordingly, ive set the frames in octane properly (i assume), yet it still doesn't work. I've attached a screenshot of my material settings - there's ...

Re: TurbulenceFD & Octane Volume
I tried the same thing with two sample scenes that I got from the v3 alpha thread, but the same issue still arose. o it;s probably to do with it being a learning license? it would make senseaoktar wrote:Yes I suppose that tfd api is disabled for non-commercial versions. Test on octane TFD sample scenes.

TurbulenceFD & Octane Volume
I saw this being done in the alpha release thread for V3 last year, though I can't seem to get it to work. I'm trying to render simulations made with turbulence in octane (c4d). I've attached a screenshot of a fast setup I made to show the issue. Thing's i've done are outlined in red. As you can see ...

Re: Really noisy scenes after Octane 3 update
I don't know your scene needs but try to optimize with Diffuse samples down :)
Well that seems to have fixed it, thanks heaps!! Those settings never made any *pleasing* difference on my scenes in V2 so I ended up letting them fly over my head after a while.
Really appreciate the help everyone ...

Re: Really noisy scenes after Octane 3 update
Hi jabbathekid,
weird, but I guess you have posted twice the same v3 result, correct?
I cannot reproduce this behavior with my scenes
Could you share the scene or a part of it that shows the same behavior?
ciao beppe
yeah i did sorry, just wanted to make sure it was definitely in the post ...

Really noisy scenes after Octane 3 update
Before updating to octane 3 this scene would be quite clean at a high max. samples value with the PMC kernel (something like 5000 - 8000), however now it's incredibly noisy, with all of the same settings and everything.

Is there any way to fix this?
