I bought a subscription licence a couple of days ago for Octane 2020.
I have installed standalone 2020.1 and have the C4d plugin 2020.1.
However when I look at my Octane account it shows that the subscription standalone is active om my PC (yes thats my PC name.... Great Big Nuts!)

network render has worked before. do we need to install a previous version of octane to get network render again?

I don't know how you are getting that spotlight. Im trying the same settings as you but still get the dark spot and the light goes through the object and out the other side.
Also as you can see, my spotlight is wide but not in the picture viewer.

Oh, think Ive just solved my problem.

'resend only updated objects' and then have 'force updates' selected in the octane Objects tag. Doh!

all good now

This is what I get with the difference between resend all scene (deprecated) and resend only updated object...

As an alternative to rendering lots of Render Layer Masks using Octane Object tags with different IDs (which takes extra time to render). I have set different colours in the object colour box in the tag and selected object layer colour in the render passes.

It works fine with 'resend only updated ...

yes, I have just discovered this.
Before upgrading to Sierra on my main workstation I upgraded my laptop and checked all my software etc was working ok. Unfortunately Octane was the one plugin I didnt test.

I may wait hoping for an update soon, but if I need to use Octane I will have to ...

I havent used them myself but I had a look around a while ago for render farms that might do octane in case I ever need one.
