Re: Octane for Unity - Installation Guide and FAQ (UPDATED)

Right now it's the easiest way to support testing - but in final release it will be free to everyone.

If you have ever used ORC, you already have a free OVR license for a year to go with that. We'll add a 30 day OVR license for up to 100 permanent users (without ORC/OVR) who want to do testing and ...

Re: Octane Render lightfield Unity VR

Pretty much all of Octane standalone is baked into Unity 2017. You can export aUnity scene graph into ORBX package (standard and std. specular convert automatically into Octane, as do Unity lights and sun/sky system). More importantly, you can import an ORBX scene file and attach it as a Unity 3D ...

Re: Modest GPU & CPU render nodes? Cheap, Fast & Good? :)

Hey guys,

Looking for a little advice here on building out a few render nodes. Trying to figure out best bang for the buck for CPU + GPU nodes. I'm a remote freelancer so just looking to add a bit more horsepower to my setup. I've been using Octane a ton, but also want the option to be able to ...

Re: Octane uber shader for houdini

In the next weeks, I'll work on the proper support of the new Houdini 16 /mat context materials, including a new /mat Octane material builder, support /mat HDAs and subnets, etc.

Remember that SESI has said that from Houdini 16 and beyond the shop materials are deprecated. They are supported for ...

Re: Houdini 16

The next plugin version, that I want to release later this week, will have a build for the just released Houdini 16. I'm just updating the plugin code to support also the new Octane 3.06 features in the same release.

Thanks,
-Juanjo

This sounds great! Thank you for including this in the update ...

Re: Altus rendering denoising system

Depends on your source image I would say; after a decent amount of samples you shouldn't loose much.
Compare the renders I posted at the beginning.

From the Corona forums
Rendertime: 1:40 min (4 passes, which is almost nothing)
Filtering Time: 43Sec

Re: OctaneRender™ 3.0 for Houdini™ - production build 3.00.20.0

Is disabling the scene export option and cloud rendering option temporary or not?
Why can't we render on the cloud with the same render size limitations? Does not make sense.

Because currently once the scene is the cloud you can change the render resolution, or you can load the scene in ...

Re: GeForce GTX 1080

I think we'll wait for the Ti & Titan versions of this card
Ok, you can do that ;)
Great! Thanks Rob. I meant 'us' as in my office... We have a bunch of cards here, including 7 titan X's, which have not earned their keep just yet.
From the rumours out there, there seems to be a lot more ...
