Re: UDIM tiles obvious bug
this was banging my head for a couple of days..
when you use image-tiles which was intended specifically for UDIM usage, the workflow is very simple
select any of the tiled image following naming convention for udims e.g. Earth_Disp_1001.tif for your 1st udim image in 8x4 tile array.
That means ...

Re: Octane 2026.1 for Cinema4D - v1.8.1
Same thing happens.
However, in this scene I particularly show now, If I open the Kernel settings window first, and hit render later, then error doesn't happen.
If I close live-view window and settings, and open again... hit render (without settings opened) I get the error again.
I saw this ...

Re: Octane 2026.1 for Cinema4D - v1.8.1
There are several issues with the OpenPBR material in this release. When Metalness is set to 1, the Specular Weight parameter does not behave as expected. It works correctly in Standalone, but not in the OpenPBR material in Octane for Cinema 4d.
The Coat Darkening parameter also does not appear ...

Re: Octane 2026.1 for Cinema4D - v1.8.1
Hi,
What happens if you click on the gear icon in Live View to recall Kernel settings, instead of the button/shortcut in your layout?
ciao,
Beppe

Re: Is it possible to detect "Octane Live Viewer Events" using C4D Python?
We were able to repro a bug where the LV keeps on rendering if you switch to another C4D Layout which does not contain any Octane LV.
Then you need to re-open the LV and restart the rendering and stop it again.
This will be fixed in a new release soon.
Not sure if this thread is related to any of ...

Re: Octane 2026.1 for Cinema4D - v1.8.1
Well, was working great till I decided to open Render Kernel options window.
Than I got this crash.
Crash easy to replicate.
Is this happening only on a specific scene? And what are the exact steps?
I can't replicate this issue here yet.
I can repro the log error with the LIght Mixer node. You ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.1 Beta 2 [current 2026]
Hi,
thanks for the new build.
I've tried new displacement and there are few issues:
- there is no old texture displacement
- viewport performance very bad eg. a mesh with displacement renders with 3 fps and without 40fps
- rendering performance is 4 times slower with displacement enabled
- when ...

Re: Octane 2025.4 for Cinema4D - v1.7.2
When scaling a project, would it be possible to have the Bump Height in materials be scaled automatically as well? For example, if I CTRL+D scale the project from 1 to 10, could we multiply the Bump Height in all Materials by 10? This might prevent them from changing their appearance in that ...
