I was having similar problems locally and traced it down to R21s new "feature" of being able to define where your plugins folder is in prefs.

Not sure it's the same in teamrender, but perhaps the remote C4D systems have either the wrong path or a different one defined in prefs for ...

This setup caused a standard C4D crash and bug report at point of plugin initialization, every time a TR client or server was started. After some trial and error, this crashing was eliminated only after removing the octane plugin folder from the _c and _s folders, but it remains in the ...

I have copied the c4doctane folder to every client folder within:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\Maxon Cinema 4D R21_64xxxxx_c
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\Maxon Cinema 4D R21 ...

What is the source of the oct.dat file? When does it initially get copied to the appdata directory, and how could I potentially reset it?

The oct.dat file is now mirrored across the C4D team render and server folders in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\

This prevented any errors in the log when the TR server restarts, and the Octane:Plugin activation OK. icon

However, as soon as an Octane job is started, the following error ...

There was a phantom copy of the plugin within the hidden Appdata folder of a user that was hidden from search. Now manually removed.

Now the remaining errors from the log seem to be reduced to:

lock failed...
Initialization error!!!!
VRAM used/free/max:0Kb/11Gb/11Gb Out-of-core used:0Kb RAM used ...

It sounds like a duplicate of the plugin. So I searched for all instances of the plugin and it only exists once. Please advise.
