Octane Scatter problem
OCT_SCATTER_PICTURE_VIEWER.jpg OCT_SCATTER_LIVE_VIEWER.jpg Octane Scatter madness. I placed two models in a scatter object and used a subdivided plane as the placement map, using "vertex" as the location for the models to appear. They appear exactly right in the Live Viewer (first picture), but ...

Re: NEW: RNDR+ subscriptions - FAQ
Confusing, the Otoy subscription system. Anyway...how do I convert my monthly Enterprise subscription to annual? And this will give me access to the Black Friday pricing + extra features (Embergen), correct?

Duplicated frames, NOT the Mac bug - I'm on PC
Going slightly mad trying to figure out why RNDR is rendering duplicate frames pretty much at random, from an orbx file generated in C4D R20. The frames are numbered correctly, but the render created for frame 48 (for example) will be the same render for frames 49, 50, 51, 52 -- then frame 53 will ...

Re: Cinema4D version 2020.2.3-R3 (Latest stable) 20.04.2021
I cannot get C4D R20 to launch past "Initializing Plugins" with this release. I have followed the instructions exactly. New "c4doctane" folder containing "Libs300", "res", and "c4dOctane-R20.xdl64" is in C > Program Files > MAXON > Cinema4D R20 > plugins. I have searched the forum for a fix but I am ...

Re: Blotchy material
Thank you, Beppe. I have attached close-ups here, with and without denoiser. I think the denoiser is seeing the flakes in the carpaint as noise, and is trying to smooth it out. The problem is, even at 5000 samples, notice the noise in the black material at upper right. I can get that part clean at ...

Blotchy material
I am testing GSG car paint material and having a problem. I hope it shows up in the attachment - the material is rendering blotchy especially on the panel above the front wheel; ALSO notice the hue shift on the rear panel.

Re: Wrong Octane version?
I have the opposite problem. I am on subscription, the error message says "Wrong Octane verion! You need regular version files to run the plugin." Very confusing.

"(stream merged" and "(stream 1)" renders giving weird color
Windows 10, Octane 4.05-R7, C4D R20. See images. The properly colored one (blue sky/clouds) is from the LiveViewer. The weird one (purple tint) is how it renders in the picture viewer. The progress bar in the Picture Viewer shows the frame being processed twice: 1st with the note "stream merged" and ...

V4 vs 2020.x
I run C4D/Octane on three 1080ti's. Is there a simple explanation of whether upgrading from Octane V4 to 2020.1.x would significantly improve performance or provide any other benefits? I do a lot of product shots of cars, usually a single vehicle on a white cyc, with the camera dollying around the ...
