Re: OctaneRender for DAZ Studio 2021.1.5 - 65 [Test]
Just want to add in case it is unknown to otoy. Daz does not let anyone have access to "HD morphs." Increasing the subdivision outside of Daz's blackbox will not reveal the detail of an HD morph. If we could get this working with octane's hair primitive or even just an approximate translation, that'd be great. Converting to a mesh would seem not worth it to me, since it would easily eat up all the VRAM.IainW wrote:- 'Strand-Based Hair' doesn't work

I don't think you can because of the nature of path tracing. Some things to consider when concealing the light source:
Try moving the light source so its not visible from the camera's perspective Use a IES for the distribution value (set to grey image and drop down to Octane IES) on texture ...

It might be the denoiser not having a device selected. You could try going to system tab on daz octane and click "Open Device Settings" and make sure everything has a device it can use.
Edit: Also make sure nvidia drivers are up to date

Any clothing with anchors on it, such as the gems and book in this case, could be unparented (right-click the item in the scene tab) from the genesis figure. That should speed up your posing. When you're ready to render just parent the clothes back to the figure. Animations will probably been an ...

If you're using a geometry shell, and some products like scars/blood/geographs use geoshells, you can try adjusting the push modifier under parameters or optionally hide materials on the geoshell that are useless.

Will this have an increased rendering speed on motion blurred areas or areas with heavy light scattering?

Are you trying to scatter light? He uses a cube, which he later renames to "mist", to scatter the light.
