Hi, I was wondering if you can use the demo version to set up a scene and do test renders etc. and then when you need to actually render a final for commercial work, purchase a month of subscription to do so.
Like will there be any issues in going between demo and full version? Feature/limitations ...

Re: Can't use RTX card with Octane Cinema 4D 2019.1.5?
Thank you so much for clarifying! I guess it's not that bad to go the monthly route. Since I rarely have work that requires 3D, but when I do I definitely want to be using Octane. Thanks again

Re: Can't use RTX card with Octane Cinema 4D 2019.1.5?
Oh, so after I've payed 499 euros for 2020.x (from v4), I can pay 199 euros next time to upgrade to 2021.x or whatever? And this is "perpetual" licenses, not subscription stuff.keviny wrote:you would add maintenance to your license: https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-ren ... e/#upgrade

Thanks for the info. Could you or anyone clarify:
1a) So I have to pay another 499 euros to upgrade from v4 to 2021, to be able to use Octane for C4D 2021.1.2 or newer which has support for the 3080ti? Using this link: https://render.otoy.com/shop/upgrade.php

Can't use RTX card with Octane Cinema 4D 2019.1.5?
Hi, I purchased Octane years ago and have only recently gotten back to using it. I payed for some upgrade a while back too (octane 4), and it currently says I have all access on the Cinema 4D plugin, but I can only use up to version 2019.1.5 (which works with my old gpu)? But it does not let me ...

Re: When will release 3 be available?
I remember reading somewhere that 2.x users will have access to a beta(?) version sometime around June and the official release would be Q4. Might be wrong though.

Re: Short Film test - Arnold vs Octane by Alan Jonathan Iriarte
Great scene! But the lighting is different on both (shadows, highlights, reflections etc.) so it's a really bad example for a comparison. The building facades, windows, roof tiles, vegetation and water tanks look way better in the arnold render. Only the mailbox, bike and car tires better in octane ...

Re: Tips for Beginners
Thanks Ahmet! I've been busy with some work, but I will get back to updating this with some new tips as soon as I finish the project I'm working on.
Thanks again for developing the C4D plugin also, it really is a blast working with it!

Re: Motionblur on animated UV's?
You could switch over to physical render for that surface alone and render it out with an alpha and composite later. Or maybe you can render with Octane's motion-blur off and using C4D's own Sub-frame motion blur Post effect? Not tried not it myself, but it might work.
