Re: OctaneRender for DAZ Studio 2021.1.5 - 69 [Test]
Hi. I'd really appreciate it if everyone who tests out this version would turn OFF the "Use combined mesh" setting in the Preferences tab. This setting now affects Final and Animation renders and Alembic export (previously it only affected Final renders). We plan to remove the "Use combined mesh ...

I have attached that portion of the log.face_off wrote:Can you post the specific Octane Log when this happens please? However, after using this work around, and avoiding the crash, I have also started seeing CUDA 700 errors randomly occurring, requiring me to restart DAZ.

Re: OctaneRender 2020 for DAZ Studio [TEST and STABLE]
I've had a few Cuda 700 errors in the last few days as well after upgrading to 2020.1.0.54.
At the moment however, I have a scene I was working on yesterday, that now crashes DazStudio when I open the OctaneRender viewport after loading the scene.
It seems to always crash with the bellow reason ...

Re: OctaneRender 2020 for DAZ Studio [TEST and STABLE]
As for the scene rendering okay for you. That is very odd. For me every time it has an issue. Same result via the result mode and testing with Visual Studio debugger ? Rebuild scene will fix that scene but initial load will always be in the wrong orientation for that file. May I know what version ...

Re: OctaneRender 2020 for DAZ Studio [TEST and STABLE]
With 2020.1 XB3 and 2020.1 XB3, Daz Octane frequently becomes stuck infinitely building geometry. Reloading or rebuilding the geometry does not fix this, neither does starting a final render, or closing and re-opening the render view port.
This does not occur for me with 2019_1_5_49.

Re: OctaneRender™ 2019.2 XB1
Two things I have observed while messing around with 2019.2 XB1.
1. Having AI light and RTX enabled at the same time results in a CUDA error.
2. Adaptive sampling seems to cap out at around 120 M/sec for me when I have RTX enabled. This may be an edge case, but I ended up with an adaptive sampling ...

Re: OctaneRender™ 2019.2 XB1
Hey Divasoft and Jolbertoquini -
you know the scene in the RTX Octane Bench where you could test and get a measure of the boost factor RTX will give you, do you now get that same boost factor for that same scene if you test it in this XB1 test build?

Re: OctaneRender 2018 for DAZ Studio [TEST and STABLE]
All the settings seem to match. But now I have another issue. So for the new dforce hairs, I have purchased the Bristol and Eddie hairs. The Eddie one wont show up at all even when I initially load it. I dont know what to do ;_;
Now that I test it, I have the exact same issue with Eddie hair. I ...

Re: New daz beta adds native strand based hair
Also has anyone noticed with dforce hair, if you open a file or mess around with it too much it will just stop rendering in the octane viewport? The only fix I have found is to just delete it and load the hair again, but it gets annoying real fast having to keep doing it.

Re: New daz beta adds native strand based hair
Okay, after some messing around I've sort of gotten it working... sort of.
Under the Simulation section of the Parameter settings for the hair object or its cap, ensure Generate PR Hairs and Preview PR Hairs are toggled to on. I believe this create a hair figure in Daz from the strand based hair ...
