Re: Cinema 4D version 2018.1-R3(Latest stable) - 29.03.2019
I'm getting a hard crash (application just closes with no error) with this scene and others with any interaction in the node graph. Cannot use octane on my system currently.

Re: Foreground Object Matte
Unfortunately that doesn't do it. It works as I expect with the C4D standard shader and the Forground object. Switching it to Octane and it won't work. I attached project file here.

Foreground Object Matte
I am working at 11517x1080, but some of the screen is occluded and doesn't need to be rendered. So I'd like Octane to ignore those pixels and speed up my rendering.

In C4D standard I can put this texture in the alpha of a Foreground object and get what I need.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but the LV is all white and it is doing octane preview in the perspective window.

Re: CINEMA4D process going to background after closing
Cool, Alt+F4 seems to close and release the license properly. thank you for the tip!
Hopefully I can remember to close C4D that way from now on. What still sucks for me is if I forget to close it with Alt+F4 and try to use on my laptop I'll need to make a trip back to my office again.

Re: CINEMA4D process going to background after closing
OK, I am having this same issue. It is really frustrating because I cannot then use Octane on my laptop as it doesn't release the license properly.
Windows 10 Pro Ver.1703 OS Build: 15063.296
C4D R18.048 (Build RB197636)

Re: How is total vram calculated?
I'm working in C4D so I'll try the 'edit in standalone' to check out the Devices tab in the stand alone. Thanks for the info, I have never even opened the stand alone... I will check that out!

How is total vram calculated?
Can some one help me understand how the total scene vram is calculated?
Textures+Geometry+Frame buffer = total vram? or am I missing something?
