Re: Realflow motion blur
That sounds like a good reason to not keep explaining it. I have read other times when you explained this stuff and you're right, it's not a new conversation. But, it'll probably continue to come up forever and closing forum threads and inhibiting users from helping each other makes little sense to ...

Realflow motion blur
I was following the thread on liquid motion blur because I would prefer to use Octane on an upcoming project (I like having many bounces in my glass materials) but I would need motion blur from Realflow meshes. The admin of the forum (JimStar) has closed that thread after someone accused him of ...

Re: ETA on proper v3 version
I have been testing Redshift in the last couple of weeks (signed up for their 3ds Max Alpha testing). Their 3ds Max plugin is beautifully crafted. It is developed way beyond Octane's and it's still technically in Alpha. It's a biased renderer, takes a little more work to setup and isn't as ...

Re: ETA on proper v3 version
Firstly, I agree we need to do better with communication on these forums regarding the 3DS Max plugin. Shipping V3 simply spread our team thin, and I will be the first to admit that is not an excuse- all I can do is be transparent about why this has happened.
So we will fix this, starting with ...

Re: ETA on proper v3 version
Very true about it being one of the best engines and that alone is not enough. I'm loving the attention Redshift has paid to it's 3ds Max plugin. It is lightyears beyond the Octane 3ds Max plugin even though it's still in Alpha!!! I like Octane's imager and minimal settings approach but with such ...

Re: octane license not activated
You change it from 'Beta' to 'Test' and now it's worthy of a purchase? Anyone familiar with Octane's lesser supported plugins knows this 'Test' stage could last a very long time. So sick of buying your products thinking you are actually building a company. You need to hire more software engineers or ...

Re: ETA on proper v3 version
it's truly pointless to even ask this question given the record of Otoy reps saying they are ramping up support for plugins and not following through. I'm giving up on Octane officially. I've got 2 standalone licences, a c4d license, a maya license and a max license. If anyone is interested, please ...

textures are baked perfectly !!!! I like this option ...
to bake textures you need 1. set in the camera mode, Octane - mode baking ... 2. to prepare the right unwrap object . 3. To specify an ID and retrieve the scan baking with a variety of channels in the octane viewport 4 save 5 to assign to ...
