Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development

I've already had a thread on it since august 2019.

Re: Update on DAZStudio plugin development

Hi BK,
If you're prioritising fixing bugs, can you please prioritise fixing the issue where a 100% transparent shell that clashes with an existing surface causes the existing surface to be transparent as well? Currently i'm having to resolve the issue by using magnets to pull away the 100 ...

Re: Seriously disappointed in progress of the Daz plugin

To OP: You've summed it up well - I've cancelled my subscription a month ago for similar reasons.

As a casual hobbyist, I love octane - it produces the prettiest renders when used with Redspec.
Currently, there's two issues that cripples the software to the point that i've given up and went with ...

Re: Bug?: Alpha transparency close to another surface issue.

Looks like this issue is still not fixed..

To be frank, it seems silly that a 100% transparent shell would clash with the object below it. Can't you implement a quick fix to completely remove 100% transparent shells from even rendering? This is causing a huge amount of artifacts that i am ...

Re: Bug?: Alpha transparency close to another surface issue.

A Ray Epsilon of 0.000001 means you should be able to have your vertices a fraction of a millimeter apart. Is it possible the scene units are incorrect? Or there is another geometry item interfering?

Paul

It appears that this body prop I am using creates a geometry shell attached to Genesis 8 ...

Re: Bug?: Alpha transparency close to another surface issue.

Hi - this is due the the Kernel->Ray Epsilon being to large, resulting in close vertices causing artifacts.

Paul

Hi Paul,

Is there a workaround?

As i mentioned in my previous post, I have already set Ray epsilon to the minimum of 0.000001.
I have to set surfaces to > 1 CM which reduces the ...

Bug?: Alpha transparency close to another surface issue.

Hello,

While using the genesis 8 character, i have two different surfaces X &Y set to very close distances (0.01 cm).
Surface X is the body.
Surface Y is a shell.
The shell has a alpha transparency associated with it. Where it is fully transparent, octane render renders through surface X & Y.
Ray ...

Re-Material every time when scene is loaded.

Hello,

I'm new to the daz3d plugin for octane. That said, I have been using poser's plugin quite extensively.

It appears that when i create any light emitters or use redspec's textures in the daz3d plugin, i have to reapply them every time i load the scene. (There are dozens of body parts to ...

Re: So, still no slave licences..

Just bought a new laptop with a 1070, and i wanted to use an older GTX950 as a slave renderer instead of throwing/giving it away.

What a disappointment to discover I have to pay $400 to use it as a slave... At this point i'm seriously considering using a different render tool altogether.

Re: Error when converting poser->Octane.

Yahoo it worked! Thanks for the instructions Paul.

I started deleting all unnecessary props for that render angle, and changed the OpenGL to SreeD (which i believe is the main culprit). It now renders fine. :D
