Re: Cinema4D version 2020.1.2 (Latest stable)11.06.2020

I really wasn't trying to disrespect anyone. I truly apologize if it came across that way.

I will try to phrase things differently in the future.

But please understand that when things break and don't work, WE get yelled at. WE lose clients.

I got yelled at today.

Re: Cinema4D version 2020.1.2 (Latest stable)11.06.2020

Sorry about your criticisms. We should label it STABLE if you/all accept that previous builds are STABLE. Because they were having more CORE bugs and fixed in this CORE. And the plugin is adjusted to provide lighter workflow while working on the content.
Now the latest CORE has a problem with VDB ...

Re: Cinema4D version 2020.1.2 (Latest stable)11.06.2020

Hi all,
about VDB rendering, there is a known issue introduced in 2020.1.1 SDK, and still not solved in 2020.1.2 SDK in loading VDB version 223.
The core devs are on it, and the issue will be fixed in the next SDK update.
Please go back to 2020.1-R7, if you need to render VDB files.

VDB loader is also broken for me. Rolled back to R4 and it works.

I cant figure out how to get Cryptomatte working. Currently the Object node puts out an all green pass with outlines and the material node does 2 colors that aren't the same material.

Re: Linear, ACES and OCIO

Reading the Octane standalone page, it appears they have only added the option to export an ACES exr. So I don't think there is a way to use ACES in the camera imager response curve, so it's not possible currently to get any visual feedback within C4D as you can in Redshift and Arnold. Unless I'm ...

Re: Razer Studio Edition Laptop?

I have the Razer Blade with the 2080. I love it, it's rock solid. I render all the time on the road.

Studio version has more base RAM (32gb vs 16gb), but the regular version can be upgraded.

So it comes down to if you need the extra vram (8 vs 16) for the extra price.

I also highly recommend the ...
