Re: Octane for Blender vs Octane for Houdini

I now use octane over blender, and have used it a lot with maya.
There is a big difference in terms of speed of work. When you are working with interactive rendering, blender takes much longer than maya... It seems like it's the server that does the work and you have to be constantly communicating ...

Export to orbx; python error

Hi
I have a scene that I want to export to orbx to launch render from octane standalone.
But when I export it gives me this python error

Python: RuntimeError: class EXPORT_OT_orbx, function execute: incompatible return value , , , Function.result expected a set, not a NoneType

Thamks!!

Re: Pixel aspect ratio error.

Hi!!
Thanks for the answer!
I was looking for it within the render settings (like in Cycles), when the option is actually in the camera settings. There, we have a pixel aspect ratio value that works similarly

Pixel aspect ratio error.

Hi.
We are working on a scene whose final format is anamorphic. We need to adjust the pixel aspect ratio, so in Blender we set the X aspect to 2 and the Y aspect to 1. When we do this with Cycles, it works perfectly, but the same scene in Octane gives us a pixel aspect ratio of 1.0. The framing ...

Re: command line render

Hi...
Thanks a lot!!
We are using version 1.03 of ACES...
We also have the same ACES configuration in Bleder (for cylces).
We have set the variable OCIO in the user variables... But I don't know if there is another one specific for octane OCIO....

command line render

Hello.
I have tried to render from the command line, but I get an error (I think with the OCIO) but I don't know what to do to fix it.
I leave here the CMD text

C:\>blender W:\3D\temp\TestBlenderCMD\Test_Cube_v01.blend -E octane -b -s 5 -e 7
Color management: Using P:\3D_pipeline\ACES\aces_1.0.3 ...

Re: Render EXR problem

Thank you very much for the answers.
I have an Octane Render Pass enabled and my environment variable is using the correct version of Maya.
I finally found my problem. If I launch the render from the Render>Batch Render command it does not write the EXR, but if I launch the same scene with Render ...

Render EXR problem

Hello.
I'm finishing two projects and we have two plans that we can't render....
Both plans have in common that they use mash with many instances (one with about 3.000.000 and the other with about 200.000).
The one with more instances we have done it with orbx.proxy and the one with less in a ...
