Thank you very much, that's basically how I tried to do it but for some reason my light power was very low, I'll need to check what I did wrong :)
EDIT: I did it right myself for Octane but made the material assignment wrong so totally my newbie mistake :o After fixing that I still got very low ...

How to assing light to partial object (by group)?
Hi!
I can get an object level object to act as light easily.
But how can I make say box that has top polygon as light and otherwise normal material? :o
I managed to make it emissive by using Diffuse material with Black body connected to emission input but the light power is very low, hardly notable ...

Re: New installation - LightWave can't find the plugin
I have similar problem but could not solve it using the latest version :(
My system crashed and after that won't boot and backups are corrupt so I have no choice except to install everything from scratch :(
So I did, I installed LW 2015.3 64bit and copied those three files from Octane plugin zip ...

Re: Sided polygons
That kind of setup works great too, I used it before :)
I wanted to be helpful and tried that same couple of hours ago but didn't get it to work so I didn't post it :)
It worked manually by setting the amount (of course then it hid all walls) but when I connected the polygonside node, it does ...

WOW thank you very much Juanjo!
Yes these work fine
There is no 'procedural_volumetrics2.lws' in 'misc', was that intentional? There is 'procedural_volumetrics3.lws'

Re: Creating Clouds in Lightwave for Octane
I'm sorry but how these demos are supposed to work? :o
Some give some kind of fog but most only give grey screen.
So if these are supposed to be demos for how to use Octane volumetrics, they fail big time :D
Please make some explanations and really working scenes that give some kind of idea how ...

Re: Ground fog?
Thank you Juanjo, working great with your screenshots, didn't even need to load the scene :)
And it is surprisingly fast, even for me who is already used to Octane's speed  Fog is usually something that takes long time to render but this is matter of minutes (of course depends on complexity ...

Re: Octane Example Mesh
I was talking about the Octane one, but this is perfect too, thankyou :)
Oh you have 3DC too, great :)
Yes I know you meant the Octane test object but that is the same model, just from different source :)
BTW, you can even use the 3DC preset environment HDRs in Octane, they are under the 3DC ...

Re: Octane Example Mesh
It can be found in 3D-Coat directories, C:\Program Files\3D-Coat-V4.7.07\ToolsPresets\preview\preview.obj (scale to 0.1% in LW to fit LW scale).
If someone can confirm that it is allowed to be distributed I will be more than happy to post it here if you don't have access to 3D-Coat but until then ...
