Apologies for not touching base sooner, I was waiting for the card to arrive.
I was worried how a GTX card would behave with an RTX and usual problems that would arise from such things, but can confirm that they both seem to work fine. In fact, the 710 seems to have automatically grabbed the same ...

Re: Denoise in Poser 11 with 3060?
I'd rather just manually do it in postwork than give Bondware anymore money.
Thanks anyway, Paul. Take care.
I feel your pain, and I am there. One way around it (although you're not going to like it) is if you have room for a 2nd gpu and are able to get your hands on a 20xx gpu, you can denoise ...

Re: Denoise in Poser 11 with 3060?
Hey Paul, been a while. Glad you're still around and care.
Version 2020.1.5 shows the same Device settings as those of the plug-in; No Denoise checkbox and a question mark where CUDA cores should show. Going by your hunch, I went and downloaded 2020.2 and the Denoise is there, and it shows the ...

Denoise in Poser 11 with 3060?
Hello,
my cards died because this year has had a grand start so I was forced to upgrade to new ones, which meant I had to upgrade to new version of Octane etc. etc. but I don't really want to give several hundred dollars to beta test a program I basically hate so I want to remain on Poser 11 ...

Re: Wall issues.
I had some strange occurrences with flat surfaces, where the mash density was quite low, quite often, too.
Beside the ray epsilon setting, I most of the time forgot to uncheck "Smoothing" in the material tree.
You can get some quite funny and unexpected results with this setting either ...

Re: Wall issues.
Hey Paul, I went through all the settings again and it turns out it's Ray epsilon that was the problem. I had it set to zero. Setting it to "1e-05" fixes the problem. Not the first time that setting has caused me trouble either.
Sorry for the bother but I do hope this'll help someone in the future ...

Re: Wall issues.
Tried moving it, tried changing textures, tried many a thing. It still looks like something is applying some kind of odd smoothing on the flat surface. Here's an image with the walls in darker diffuse texture. The one on the left is still in light blue.

Wall issues.
Hello,
I'm using Octane 4 and I'm experiencing a problem with the walls. Please refer to the following image;

1 . It's a normal, flat wall yet there's strange light circles on it, including various other artefacts.

Re: Noise/Rendering problem.
A small update in case somebody else experiences this problem.
It was displacement maps that caused the blotches on the skin. Looks like even though you may have the "Convert Displacement Maps" off in the setup, Octane will still sometimes load them up for some reason.
So do check those out if you ...
