Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
As i am switched from OCDS to Iray i can say that Iray needs much more time for preparing the renderdata but when it starts it is not significant slower then octane. And there more complex the scene is with increasing number of lights and use special effects like volumes etc. octane looses more and ...

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
If MDL will come and when it will be included in OCDS then i will perhaps take a look again.
But i am very sceptical. I would guess it will be Standalone only like all the other new octane features. There is not much hope i have for that.
For now OCDS is uninstalled - same as LMAH as it was not ...

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
I understood that for sure.
I was close to do so.
But during this discussion i started an Excel list with my lastest bought products and checked them one by one and wanted to write down what issues come up.
After checking around 30 products which i bought around in the last 3 month, i had 17 ...

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
And that is wrong.
I personally expected excact what we have now. Through Iray the content market for DAZ advances with new features and OCDS is still at the same state as in version 2.X except that we now render through V3 Engine which makes at least no difference for us.

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
Have you tried just applying a snow material from the liveDB?
Assigning the snow mats from livedb looks not good.
It just assign snow then to tho whole terrain. But in original it has stone covered with snow. I do not know if i can assign snow material just as a second material.

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
Tried a bit with mixes materials.... closer but difficult.
It is not only that the layers are ignored. Also the UV Transforms are ignored. So i have to "trial and error" a bit. Reminds me very similar to the Terradome 3 issue.

Re: Material Issues - Stonemasons Wintercastle - IRAY
You mean he really cares about the 20 octane users ? But for me it is more an issue when not able to use new content.
In more in half of the new products there are no 3DL materials more included and right now OCDS is not able to handle all kinds of Iray Mats. For users it does not care on which ...

Re: 3 min of dancing 3d humans
This is crazy and very cool
I really like to recognize figures and materials here...which made watching this i guess i bit more crazy as for people not involved in 3D and Octane
Great Work! Keep on!
