Lights go off after first frame is rendered in batch[SOLVED]
After the first frame is rendered the lights go out. Only the light from the environment remains. I had the same problem a long time ago and thought there was a fix for this but I cant find it anywhere in the forum.

I've run in to this quite a few times as well. Not really sure when it happens.
For now you can manually delete the connections in the hypershade / connectionEditor between the initialShadingGroup and the object you want to assign your material to and all is fine again.

It's not absolutely necessary for me but I would be handy as it's the default way maya versions your files.
CTRL + ALT + s (increment and save) results in yourFileName.001.mb

no files writen during render [SOLVED]
If the filename contains a period and <scene> is used in the naming field no files are written. The renderer points to a non-existing path.
if the filename is Balloon_Cached.001.mb the resulting render points to either a folder with the name of the temporary mb file or a non-existent path like ...

Not sure if this solves your problem but Octane like to have a transform or projection node connected to texture files.

Also make sure outputting motion vectorpass is disabled.

Hi Hilby,
Some points to help you out.
1: The smoothing is controlled by Octane:Level. It's under the ExtraAttributes of the shapenode. Viewport smoothing doesn't work with OctaneMaya.
2: Blendshapes and skinned meshes have to be Reshapable Proxies, otherwise they won't move.
3: Octane is pretty ...

The difference between the normal render with the progressbar and the ipr is only that the IPR shows the rendering in progress and the normal viewport render only shows the result when it's completely done. This may take a long time depending on the number of samples you set in the renderglobals.

Octane only outputting one folder deep is something that has been like this for quite some time.
