SMALL but HUGE time saving tip for Mac Silicon

Just wanted to share a small tip that I discovered a few weeks back.

Im on a MAC studio with the M2 chip.. If your experience with octane on Mac has been anything like mine.. you're getting very regular render failures in the live viewer. The problem is that i used to have to quit cinema and start ...

Re: Denoise AOV Nodes - DENOISE individual lights!

Amazing thanks Beppe, sorry for the late reply busy on another project.. but will try this out shortly!
if this works as described.. two points.. A) could be nice to have a simpler quick setup.. and B) should promote this feature its very useful for anyone doing composting with octane (ie most ...

Denoise AOV Nodes - DENOISE individual lights!

Was excited to read about the ability to denoise individual light passes. This would be incredibly useful for comping.
Its explained here https://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=82267 under "Powerful Denoise AOV Nodes and Filter Graphs (GPU and CPU)"

SO it looks like it works in stand ...

Re: Cinema4D version OctaneRender® 2024.1_Alpha3 (21.02.2024)

I posted this recently in previous release but just checked and also not working in this version.
Beppe checked and confirmed the problem.

Been loving the latest release.. have encountered a bug though with Volumes.

On Mac Studio, up to date c4d version. Sonoma 14.2.1.

Volume step length doesn't ...

Been loving the latest release.. have encountered a bug though with Volumes.

On Mac Studio, up to date c4d version. Sonoma 14.2.1.

Volume step length doesn't seem to have any effect on the volume. This is on a VDB volume with imported .vdb file but occurs elsewhere.
Same file works totally fine ...

Re: Cinema4D version OctaneRender® 2024.1_Alpha2-R2 (11.01.2024)

Hi Raoul,
the network interface speed seems slow in your screenshot.

Here is a KitBush scene greater than yours with 10Gbit Ethernet, after 4 seconds the Render-Nodes are already rendering:

And here is the same scene but with 1Gbit Ethernet, the Render-Nodes are starting to render ...

Re: Cinema4D version OctaneRender® 2024.1 Alpha 2 (03.01.2024)

Hi Roul,
it depends on network interface speed.

WiFi is not good, too much latency, we suggest a minimum of 1Gbit Ethernet connection between Workstation and Render-Nodes, better to have 10Gbit or greater, with complex/huge scenes.

ciao,
Beppe

I don’t think it’s network speed, everything wired ...

Re: Cinema4D version OctaneRender® 2024.1 Alpha 2 (03.01.2024)

Excited for the network render support. Havent had much luck yet though unfortunately.
Latest build of C4d on an Apple M2 Ultra networking to a pc with two 3080TIs.
Recognizes the slave fine in the settings but when rendering does one of two things.

1) If its a very simple scene like a cube and ...
