I am considering splitting it up for categories like wood, concrete etc, and ofcourse a bundle package for all materials together (or smaller bundles).

Hi,
The above technique gives the best results so far.
I tried gradients, noises, diffuse etc - the above is the best (and pretty straight forward).

Thank you for your opinion.
Well it won't be 200 textures but materials (many would share the same maps) or I would say shaders since each one will be configurable (wear, dirt etc).

As cgpanda said - then select that "placement" node nad enable gizmo in the viewport panel - you should see the gizmo on the render (you can switch between local and world coordinates).
Best practice is to use separate camera node (since octane can handle only one viewport) to manipulate objects ...

Thank you for your insight.
I am aiming for top quality (substance designer would be involved in the process) and variety - the main goal is to forget about creating new materials since this pack would have everything that is needed (and more), and would be extended with "whishlist" materials ...
