According to my team it doesnt work.
You have to change the kernel to "info channel", and the render out separately.
We are using Deadline for Render Management and it doesnt work unless you do the above (which is just like rendering the scene again).
Also, can I please know what version of Maya ...

Am I correct that the Zdepth pass is still not working?
If it isn't, then how can you call this "production ready"?

I tested it here:
a 1060GTX 6GB performed equal or sometimes a bit slower than a 780-TI in Maya 2016 SP5 with 7.20.1.

Re: OctaneRender® for Maya® 2.26.1 - 7.20.1 Win [CURRENT]
So it seems to give me the same beauty output as 7.14 so thats good.
Only since the AOV system has changed my old renders will not output the old AOV setups any more... (which is fine... just not going to change all my scenes so close before my deadline...)
Anyway, seems stable, not fast indeed ...

^ that......
is exactly how we feel as well...
I think you should be honest and just not sell something that you can't make true.
Being honest in this case would have been more helpful to us, and would have been appreciated rather than being dishonest and bringing us all into this shit.

Re: Maya users plead for some sort of progress update on Plugin
Its not just V3.... you seem to not understand what your customers do as a business.
1. V3 is not free... we have already paid you for a terrible plugin for v2...
And no... we are not paying for the upgrade...
2. V2 is used on long running productions here (because we where promised that it would ...

I thought that when I spoke my mind on Facebook some time ago and we got a bunch of emails from the devs at Octane and Billy to visit us things where going in the right direction but it seems they aren't.
We are, at the moment using octane for Maya on the production floor and its been a huge bumpy ...

Re: Version 2.24.2-R2 (22.01.2016) - Latest stable
Hi,
I have two questiosn about this release:
1: Where does Octane4C4D save the login details file (like oiprefs for Maya)?
I need these to automate our pipeline.
2: Does this release work with the newer 1080 GPU's. The Maya plugin for Octane 2 does not (and will not start rendering).
I don't care ...

Cheers Kai,

Is this something we can dynamically give out to machines or does the license store machine specific info?
Since you don't have a network license manager I can script this myself (not preferred) but I need to know if this file can be given to another computer and it will still work ...

With my suggestion I meant did you run the batch file that comes with octane Standalone?
It configures your machine for the slave mode daemon but also asks for license details.
