Network rendering : not working ?

Hello there,

I am new to blender octane and having trouble to get network rendering correctly :

Even when I get net gpu 2/2 (which is the right number of gpu in the slave machine), the number of samples don't get any further than 1.8ms/s with or without network connection.

Also I don't see gpus ...

Re: Lock views

Now I understood what I was doing wrong, I wasn't saving the rendertarget to the view, but saving it to xml files. I didn't notice this option before thanks for everything Paul !

I still have two questions :

- Is there a way to make the octane viewport fit the revit camera accurately ? or render ...

Re: Lock views

Yes that's I actually already do.

However some parameters don't get stored for each view yet. Like camera angle for example, or post production parameters.

Camera angle is very crucial because it changes the proportion of the image in the png.

This involves a lot of time to remember and manually ...

Re: Lock views

I don't think any revit plugin can control octane's settings. I think I wasn't clear.

I want to assign a FOV / Exposure / Perspective correction settings per Camera.

Whenever I move these settings on Camera 2, I lose them on Camera 1, then it's impossible to work on a fixed view, everytime I ...

Lock views

Hello,

I'd like to know how to lock views in order to keep the modifications obvious.

In architectural conception process updating the exact same rendered point of view is very frequent to see evolutions between different phases.

I know the simple answer, use Revit views. However some parameters ...

Re: Losing all materials

Sorry I didn't answer you because I had to meet a deadline monday.

You mean the revit file ? It's quite big, 550mb... The problem didn't appear these last days, and I forgot which one has done the problem (I changed a lot of times the file version) if it occurs again I'll send it to you.

Thanks Paul

Re: Losing all materials

Hey Paul, I have encountered the problem 3 times in three days, and now I have this window when I launch the Octane Plugin with all my recent files :

Exception in LoadAllOctaneInfoFromSceneSaveeData à System.String.substring(Int32 startIndex, Int32 length) à OctaneRenderPlugin.HostManager ...

Re: Adding some relief to a brick texture for LiveDB

Hey Paul,

I'm interested in the dirt node, but how can I add it in each part of this material ? I mean two dirt patterns in Brick and joints separately .

Is there a tutorial to learn how to manage the nodes ? I don't really get how to add nodes without messing with the original structure of the ...

Re: Losing all materials

Hi Paul, yes he explained well, now I try to avoid opening something else while i'm working, but accidents happen, yesterday I double clicked on a window and it has reset materials once again...

So I can confirm the workaround is saving file before opening anything else except the file you're ...

Re: Adding some relief to a brick texture for LiveDB

Thanks ! It worked because after I realized that I had to scale the displacement, I've done this to the texture globally, but forgot about the displacement texture.
