Re: Version 4.0-RC5 (Latest release candidate) 29.09.2018

It does not work. here are 2 screenshots and a c4d file.

I must say the R20 file opened in R19 works. in R20 metal material is black in the preview and in liveviewre/rendering window. I'd need help with this issue. available for teamviewer if needed.

Edit: it did not attach the c4d file.

Edit n.2 ...

Re: Version 4.0-RC5 (Latest release candidate) 29.09.2018

Hello,
running c4d R20 + octane render 4 RC5, can not get the metal material to work, it remains white. I have tried all the BRDF modes with no difference. Moving the IOR slides has no effect (Artistic, IOR+color, rgb IOR)
Works fine on c4d R19 with 3.0.8.

Am I the only one with this issue? Is it a ...

Re: Version 4.0-RC4-R2 (Release candicate) 22.09.2018

I have just updated c4d R20 to it's newest build, it broke octane v4. No matter what I do I get a black rendering. tried with a plane, a cube, octane camera and an infinite light.. I's not scene dependent here. Was fine till 5 minutes ago.

EDIT: It fixed by itself afer restarting the computer. Don ...

Re: Version 3.08(latest stable)

1-No. Please share your experience.
2-On next builts.
3-No. It depends to topology and complexity of faces. Be careful while changing values. It's heavy effect for cpu.

1- I fixed it quitting and re-loading C4d. Don't know what happend. Il'll test it longer and will send a scene will it happen ...

Re: Version 3.08(latest stable)

Hi, here are some questions:

1- Is the vertex map broken? I'm using it on a landskape t as a map with octane scatter, no difference with the map loaded or unloaded in the vertx map slot.

2- when will offline mode be available again? At the end of the month I might have to move temporarily for a ...

Re: Version 3.06-TEST-3 (WORK IN PROGRESS BUILDS)

Hi, I have not read 17 pages, I have just installed test 3 and noticed a new "expected exposure" tab with default value set to 1. I do not know what it controls and the meaning and how it may influence render time or quality. Any infos? It would be appreciated. Thank you.

interior for catalogue

I have just finished the first interior for a catalogue. Love this engine, it's really fun! Original image 5000x3500 pixels setup was fast, rendering about 5/6 hours on two 980ti cards

first interior rendering

Hello,
here are my first interior shots. comments are welcome. I'm still rather new with Octane. It ha been lit by an HDR image and nothing more. Still having some noise in the shadows I can't get rid of. I have tryed PMC with no improvements. Having noise at 16000 samples. Any suggestions?

first exterior

Hello, Here is my first exterior shot.

It is an actual work, just sent it to the client which approved it. Materials are a bit basic but the overall look seems ok, maybe a bit too saturated for my tastes, but client likes bright colors on this scene.
Please let me know what you think.
