So far the most reliable driver for us is 581.29 with Prefer Maximum Performance enabled.

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2025.5 - 16.12

Hi,

Any updates with phoenix fd fire rendering flat black smoke?

Can we get a randomizer when projection is used? All textures look the same. So if we add noise mud to wheels, for instance, it is identical.

Also slow rendering when using phoenix fd wet maps octane texture. Like x5 slower ...

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2025.5 - 16.11

There is a massive slowdown and lots of errors with NVIDIA's latest drivers 591.44

The most stable driver is 581.29

Render times go from 27 seconds to 1 min 30 sec. In octane viewport smp/px increase very, very slowly when using the latest drivers.

Not sure how nvidia ruins it all with their ...

Re: OctaneRender® for 3ds max® v2025.5 - 16.11

This problem hasn’t been resolved for years:

VRAM / CPU RAM issue
When VRAM is fully utilized and the system starts using CPU RAM, the slave machines always crash. They never render and consistently report “not enough VRAM.” Why don’t they use CPU RAM the same way the master GPUs do?
We have out-of ...

These version crashes max a lot. Can be after you stop rendering and click to render again or render something and 10 min max just crashes

Phoenix particles all the sudden dont have motion blur.

sometimes it works during rendering. sometimes it doesn't especially when octane viewport is opened.

There is a bug with octane volume. If you shift copy it it will say no vdb found even though vdb path is there

Also when you reopen the scene VDB is not loaded
