Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.11

Hi Paride,

I am following up on slaves not using out of core ram. Even 32 gb did nothing. So the scene is borderline what gpu can hold in vram. I attached the image. master has 5090 and 2 x 3080 ti with 12 gb of vram. But the slaves have some 2080ti with 11 gb of vram. It seems that octane tries to ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.11

Why does octane render empty screen so slowly? 5090 and 2 x 3080ti at only 350m? Old octane used to render with one 780ti at 1000 plus speed?

There might be bug when using volume effects. Logs show no error. Not using it works fine

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.11

Hi neonZorglub,

Can we get an information widow about the slaves, specifically how much GPU VRAM and CPU RAM (out of core ) each slave is using?

Sometimes, when a slave has less VRAM than the master and out-of-core memory needs to be used, the slave fails and gives a “No Memory” error.

It would ...

Thanks ! Fixed typo in the post title.

Hi neonZorglub,
Do you know why slaves crash when vram usage is over their vram limit instead of using out of core RAM?

Hi coilbook,
Did you set the Out-of-Core setting on the node during its setup?
Regards
Paride

Hi Paride, yes I did. 16 gb per ...

Re: anybody succeed to recreate this in max ?

Hi,
I'm attempting to determine if freezing the textures resolves the issue, but I'm uncertain.
I did it quickly, it will need to be properly adjusted, but the material is there.

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.4 for 3ds max® v26.10

Can we please get automatic hotpixel removal? By now, this should at least be an option. With everything AI can create these days, it seems like automatically controlling hotpixel should be possible.

\Hi neonZorglub,

There seems to be a memory leak or something similar. By the time 3ds Max and Octane finish rendering an animation, the system memory usage is maxed out, the PC becomes very slow (even after closing 3ds Max), and it has to be ...
