This is a problem I have addressed a couple of times. But hit is one that is in octane for a couple of years now. When render with an alpha and dof and using the desnoier it give very ugly artifacts around the edges.

I looks like if you use multiple light (analytics on a standard surface shader) it does not add the specular correctly. I got very strong reflective renders. If I render my light separately and them in nuke it give the result I would expect. I cannot share my scene because of NDA unfortunately.

Arnold has the possibility to disable diffuse reflection of an object (specular reflection, diffuse transmission and specular transmission are also options that can be turned off). I would die to get such features in Octane. Is this something that could be added?

Looks like the ray switch 'diffuse' function does not work properly any more. If I try this old orbx file it does not look that same as milanm example.

If I render my groom (curves) and I disable shadow viibilty, my render becomes 35 times slower. (I render with path tracing kernel and alpha shadows on)

I did a test on my current scene:

low resolution 4000 samples

14 sec with Spectral AI Denoise
30 sec without Spectral AI Denoise

full hd 4000 samples

78 sec with Spectral AI Denoise
69 sec without Spectral AI Denoise

On a 4090 with octane 2022.1.1

They are working on streaming geometry and textures from an ssd (direct storage). I think that will be in the next big version of octane.

In the shadow pass, I see objects that aren't supposed to cast shadows doing so.
Despite having turned off the general visibility, camera visibility and shadow visibility in the object layer, the shadows still appear in the shadow pass.

I cannot reproduce this. Can you provide a simplified scene ...
