Re: OctaneRender® 2027.1 Alpha 1 [current 2027]
Yeah it was a bit none specific but that is because I have not used it sins. In the beginning in octane 2021 I tried it a couple of timings and it was not consistent. If i reminder correctly some lights where very dim in some frames and lit up again after a car passes (I think in combination ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2027.1 Alpha 1 [current 2027]
Question about AI Light 2.0.
I noticed that when using AI Light 1.0 over the past year, it does not work very well in scenes with moving lights or where lights turn on and off.
Will AI Light 2.0 handle animated lights better?
Can you be more specific? Not really sure what do you mean by ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.2 [current 2026]
For AOVs, it would be very nice if Light AOVs also had the option for direct reflections and indirect reflections per light. This is possible in Redshift and gives very nice freedom in compositing.
I know you can achieve this with Output AOVs, but it would be great to have an out o -the box option ...

Is curve interpolation something you will add in the future? when rendering hair in octane standalone we have to export the curves in very high subdivision because octane does not support interpolation of curves.
This would be huge if that would be fixed.

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.4 [current 2025]
I have another request. With lightpasses, you can set whether a light affects an object or not, it’s a boolean operation. In Redshift, however, this option is a float value, allowing you to control how much a light influences a specific object It would be great to have this feature available as well.

Is there a way to set the compressed textures to another folder? For example a server? Now all our render computers have to compress the texture separately. Some take over 35 minits to complete.

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.3 [current 2025]
I tried rendering deep out of octane. I noticed 2 things.
1. The saved image is darker in nuke compared to the none deep render. Don't know why?
2. It looks like emission is missing in the deep render?

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.3 [current 2025]
Lots of people do Depth of Field in post. In post you got more control. In Nuke for example with the plugin 'Bokeh' you can control how much out of focus there is in front of your focus point and behind. This is not accurate but give extreme creative control. You can blur your background more and ...
