The main idea of the program is to adjust textures for further 3D model texturing — matching colors while preserving fine details. Adobe Photoshop is not capable of handling this properly.

I’m setting up a camera composition and centering the model in 3ds Max, but in the Octane live (dynamic) preview the object appears much higher. If I adjust and center it in the live preview, then in the scene viewport it ends up lower.

You didn’t understand me. I can, for example, open Pinterest in the background and adjust colors by moving the viewport over it to match the reference. Constantly taking screenshots and saving them to the hard drive—especially from Pinterest or, say, an open PDF—is not a workable approach.
