Octane Render issues after upgrading to Windows 10
Hello all,
My IT department recently "upgraded" my computer OS fro Windows 7 to Windows 10. Ever since the update Octane will not work using Standalone Octane or with the 3DS Max plug-in. In the Standalone Octane when I import a mesh and click on the node the viewport remains gray and no GPU ...

Re: How do I create a transparent background?
I have tried PNG and Tiff. I think the issue is with the plugin and not necessarily the steps. I say this because if I export the 3DS Max file to Standalone Octane I'm able to enable alpha background and the transparent background works but if I try this in 3DS Max I will always have a black ...

How do I create a transparent background?
I need to save an image without the background.
I have unchecked the Alpha Channel in the Octane kernel settings and in my Octane Viewport I can see the transparency grid instead of my background, so far so good. However when I click the "port to max framebuffer" so I can save the image file the ...

Can we use 1080 cards now?
I've tried to search on this and the results have been conflicting to say the least. Some threads say the cards won't work while others say the cards do work except not at their best potential I guess due to CUDA version 8. So my question is can we use the 1080 cards now, even if they aren't fully ...

Re: OctaneRender™ Standalone 3.00 alpha 1
Hi all,
I'm just now trying out the new 3.0 alpha and it seems my 3 GTX 780 Ti's fail every single time I try a project, no matter how complex or simple. I've even tried creating just a simple box, sphere, cylinder geometry test with 3DS Max. I export to OBJ format and within a minute or so, one of ...

Re: My animations always export to 720x480 regardless of changes
Looking at your screensot i see you are rendering straight to an AVI file from 3DSmax. The codec could interfere. This is certainly not "best practice" when rendering animations. Render to frames and use a third party application like after effects to compile the animation.
Yea I think the codec ...

My animations always export to 720x480 regardless of changes
I'm not sure if I'm just missing something or what but everything in my settings is set to be 1280x720 resolution. However once the animation has finished rendering I end up with a skewed video that is now 720x480. I don't know why it's doing this but can anyone help me figure out why I can't seem ...

Re: Why v2.0 so slow ?
I have checked and it is at the defaul use priority setting. I'm not sure why it shows otherwise but the setting hasn't been changed and everything is "out of the box default". SLI has always been disabled unless 2.0 upon launching is changing my Nvidia Control settings somehow and then reverting ...

Re: Why v2.0 so slow ?
Yea I'm seeing huge differences in speed from 1.5 to 2.0 (demo). I was going to upgrade because of all the nice features but if it's going to impact my render times then I think I'm just going to hold out for a while to seee how 2.0 improves for speed. Kinda bummed TBH :(
