I guess headless rendering is still not a thing though Jules said 3 years ago it will come very soon?
We stopped the development of headless network rendering based on the existing network rendering architecture a while ago, because these days Octane needs the GPU for a lot more things than just ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2026.1 Alpha 1 [current 2026.1]
Meshlets - will it work with Itoo Forest pack?
It will probably not work well. I haven't seen the tree geometry myself, but I expect there to be many separate island in the mesh topology for the leafs, which can't be reduced in a sensible way as far as I know.

Re: OctaneRender® 2025.1 Beta 1 [current 2025.1]
Maybe I mist it in a previous release but are meshlets still coming? or already there?
They will be in version 2026.1 . Unfortunately, they didn't make it into the first alpha, but I really hope to have them and virtual textures in the second alpha. We are fairly close to be able to make an alpha ...

Re: 2024 VDB huge time render difference. Why?
Hi,
I had a look at your scene in the Standalone and aside from an issue with the post FX (2023.1.3 seems to be too washed out, but we are investigating) the render times are more or less the same in 2023.1.3 and 2024.1. I have tested on a RTX 4080 with driver version 536.99.

Bug?
When i set a texture to the plane with "Sample pos. to UV" for matching the background, the object in the scene become semitrasparent...
I attach the scene and image sample.
This projection uses the sample position in image space to calculate the UV coordinate, it's not doing an inverse ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2024.1 Alpha 4 [current 2024.1]
All 2024 builds have issues with denoisers. 2023 worked fine for me, I have 2x 4090s, now on 2024 I get frequent crashes when denoisers are turned on. Specifically AI denoiser is the worst it crashes all the time.
What do you mean by crashes? Does the application (Standalone) crash or does ...

Re: OctaneRender® 2023.1.2 [current 2023.1]
I noticed that there is no Exposure control for camera in AOV.
Beauty AOV doesn't include Camera Exposure.
Could you elaborate?
We have all AOV nodes to control Camera Imager settings and Post except Camera Exposure :

The macOS build is still making trouble but as soon as those problems have been sorted we will make another release with macOS builds. Apologies for the delay.caseyhupke wrote:Is this still slated to be released with plugins + cross-platform network rendering this year?
