That's right, Paul. I isntalled the demo of poser pro 2014 but didn't buy it. I bought the Poser 10 version. There is a Octane.dat file dated 7/1/2014 installed in the folder structure:

F:\Program Files (x86)\Smith Micro\Poser 10\Runtime\Python\addons\OctaneRender for Poser\2-32\octane.dat).

Just as a add on, I created this folder and copied ove the files it was looking from where it was installed, and I still get the same error messages.

One issue that is a red flag is its looking in the wrong instalation folder for thsoe files it's failing to find. where can I change the location? I'm not using poser 2014, it installed the trial but never bought it. I'm only using poser 10. BTW I finally got the plugin ...

I had deleted that particular file. I still fails to make a new file and gives me the same error message: no rendertarget. Incidentally, I expected it to make a new rendertarget.por file in that folder but it didn't.

Thanks Paul, but I have no tree showing up. I had the 1.X version of Octane working just fine, this is odd. Which File is it explicitly, Perhaps I could use explorer to locate and delete it.
