Re: OctaneRender™ 2019 for Blender® 2.8 - new free tier!
I can't seem to add a light to the scene, apart from the background colour lighting everything. When i make the background colour black I cannot light the scene with lights of or objects with emission shaders.

Hi thanks for your reply. Sorry I didn't mean the improvements in LightWave 2018 itself, I meant the improvements to the 2018 version of the LightWave Octane plugin.mikefrisk wrote: The speed improvements are enough for me personally. The UI is more responsive and quick, handles high poly much more easily etc.

Re: LightWave 2018 is coming ;)
Is there any chance we can get some examples of what will be improved if we upgrade to LightWave/Octane 2018.
I really would rather not spend money unless I can clearly see some good benefits that justify the cost.
Thanks

Blender Octane Plugin
Hi All
I currently use LightWave 2015.3 with Octane Plugin. I have been using Blender more and more lately and I am really interested in trying out the Octane plugin for it. Is there a free version I can use to give it a go before buying?

Procedural Brick Texture
Hi All
I am very confused that there isn't an Octane procedural brick texture out there that can also allow the bricks to be randomly coloured. IFW2 for LightWave has the ability to do this, but it appears it is not being updated any further. This kind of texture seems like something that Archviz ...

Great stuff, going to try it now
I am never quite sure which version of the standalone Octane I need to have installed for each LightWave Octane version. Does it say somewhere?

Re: Object dissolve over time
Yeah I was thinking I might have to do that, even though there are quite a few instances. Thanks
